Hong Kong Roast. We first tried their food at Food Republic in Pavillion KL. Surprisingly enough, the person who recommended it to us is a Singaporean! And she was there on a holiday!
The second time we tried their food was at AEON Wangsa Maju Shopping Centre. It was one of those days where the family decided to takeaway something for dinner and my sister chose Hong Kong Roast.
Now, the third time was at the Food Arcade, Paradigm Mall Johor Bahru. We wanted to have an early dinner, but not something that was too heavy.
Since we have eaten at Hong Kong Roast numerous times, we should have our favourites, shouldn’t we? Truthfully speaking, we haven’t tried all their menu. In fact, we almost always order the same thing and that’s something from the roasted duck series. Sometimes it’s the roasted duck drumstick rice, other days it’s the roasted duck drumstick wonton noodles, and occasionally it’s the roasted duck a la cart.
Why this fascination with their roasted ducks?
Because it’s not easy to get halal roasted ducks! Sure, you can always have them at big restaurants and hotels, but you’ll need to dig deep into your pockets.
What we’re trying to say is, Hong Kong Roast will not cost you a fortune if you just want to satisfy that roasted duck craving, or if you want to try roasted duck for the first time.
Maybe there are other halal roasted ducks outlets out there, just that we haven’t found them yet. If you know of any, do let us know.
