Halal Status of Canning Dim Sum Ipoh & Penang

We recently received an enquiry about the halal status of Canning Dim Sum outlets from one of our readers. Naturally, we had to reach out to the restaurants to get further clarifications.

The people at Canning Dim Sum not only ascertained that both of their outlets in Ipoh and Penang are halal certified, they even sent us photos of their halal certifications! Talk about being transparent about their business!

Furthermore, all of their products are from Team Some Sdn Bhd and those products are halal certified too!

Uh huh, okay… so the Canning Dim Sum outlets in Ipoh and Penang are halal certified… what about their other outlets?

At the time of writing, the people at Canning Dum Sum are still in the midst of applying for their other outlets to get the halal certification too.

We reckon it may take a while for them to get it, due to the MCO situation we are still dealing with over here. However, it’s great to know they’ve taken the necessary steps, and it’s only a matter of time until their other outlets get the seal of approval.

Guess you’ll need to follow their social pages for latest updates!

Which brings us to one of our posts, A Guide On How to Find a Halal Restaurant In Malaysia. When in doubt, don’t hesitate to ask about the halal status of the food and establishment.

One way is to ask them directly, like how we did with Canning Dim Sum. Another way is to check with the Halal Hub Department, JAKIM either via their Halal Malaysian Portal, email, or social pages.

Huge thanks to the people at Canning Dim Sum for responding to our enquiry. Stay safe everyone!

Passing By Restoran Norazlina Chong

We passed by Restoran Norazlina Chong so many times but we never got the chance to try any of their food.

Now that we know they have delivery options – foodpanda, deliver eat and hungry, we’ll insha’Allah put them in our bucket list when we’re in KL again.

What would be the 1st thing we’d try? Their duck! Mainly because it’s not that easy to find halal duck. Oh, and they even have vacuum-packed ones. That makes it more convenient for us to enjoy it whenever and wherever we want!

For those who are keen to try any of their food, you may refer to Norazlina Chong.

We Had Halal Dim Sum At Kai Xuan Halal Chinese Restaurant

Pan Pac
Who says you can’t get halal dim sum in JB?

We had been reading about Kai Xuan Halal Chinese Restaurant but never got around to eating there.

Then one day, a friend of ours came to JB. She was staying at The Puteri Pan Pacific hotel and invited us to have halal dim sum with her.

One thing is for sure, there is nothing dim, about Kai Xuan Halal Chinese Restaurant dim sum. The restaurant has a wide variety of halal dim sum and we were quite clueless on what to order. Everything sounds so good! Plus the fact that it is not easy to get halal dim sum in JB, we were more than eager to try a few types.

Their dim sum did not disappoint us. Everything taste good and the service was quite fast too. We probably spent an hour there, feeling stuffed and satisfied.

Halal Dim Sum At Islamic Centre Canteen Hong Kong!

DSC_0006.JPG
My first meal in Hong Kong!

Landed safely in Hong Kong and took the public transport to reach my crib at Causeway Bay. The great thing about Hong Kong was that it was fairly easy to get around and I didn’t even have to ask for directions.

Eventually reached my hotel and texted my friend. She decided we meet up for dinner at Osman Ramju Sadick Islamic Centre, located at Wanchai District.

Dinner? In an Islamic centre?

Soon enough I was greeted by the sweet succulent smell of insatiable food. Halal Chinese food. And I was smitten by it. Totally smitten that I couldn’t even care to edit this only photo of the food which my friend ordered. Before I knew it, I had gobbled down everything.

Muslims traveling to Hong Kong should definitely come by here for halal Chinese food.
