Where to Find Halal Chang in Singapore

After writing the Where to Find Halal Chang in Malaysia post, you didn’t think we’d leave our neighbour across the causeway hanging without a blog post of their own, do you? Obviously not!

But since we haven’t been in Singapore since the pandemic started, our article is strictly based on Google search. We did remember on our last visit we saw a couple of places selling halal chang in Geylang and Joo Chiat. Though we’re not sure whether that information still stands.

Let’s just cut to the chase and get on to where you can find halal chang in Singapore now, shall we?

Where to Find Halal Chang in Malaysia

We’re days away from the annual Dragon Boat Festival! For some of you, you may know the festival as Duanwu Festival (端午節).

Like most Chinese festivals, they usually have a particular food that’s often associated with the festival and in this case, that special food is the zongzi (粽子) or sticky rice dumpling in English.

Over here in Malaysia though, the zongzi is also known as joong in Cantonese, chang in Hokkien, and kuih chang in Malay.

So last year, we did several posts on halal chang in Malaysia. For this year, we figured it’d be good to highlight those posts again and combine the posts into a single post for easy reference.

On top of that, we’ll also be featuring other places where you can get halal chang in Malaysia, making this post our ultimate list for halal chang in Malaysia!

Review: Many years ago we tried sister Jasmeen’s food at her Ampang Jaya outlet. We tried her dim sum as well as loh mai kai. Back then, there weren’t many places selling halal Chinese Muslim food and that visit to her outlet was an unexpected, yet very much welcomed treat from a friend of ours. We never go there again mainly because we were always on a rush whenever we were in KL. By the time we’d completed all our matters, it was time to head back to JB. If you’re around the area, do give her food a try. She also does catering and delivery.
