Kaijia: Our Dumplings Are Making A Comeback!

Amazing news to all dumpling lovers!

After spending a year and a half focusing on our Chilli Oils, we decided it’s high time we bring back our frozen dumplings.

So we have two flavours: beef and carrots, and chicken and mushrooms. The dumplings go for RM15/bag and each bag has 20 pieces of frozen dumplings.

The dumplings, along with other products, will be available at our outlet in Arked Cengal, UTM, Skudai.

That’s right. We’re opening an outlet there on 1st June, insha’Allah. (Shoot, just realised it’s tomorrow! So much more to do, so little time!).

Hope this explains why we haven’t been posting much.

Now if you’re ever in the area, we hope you will find the time to drop by our outlet. It’s not always about buying our products. We welcome you to come over to say hi, for a chat, or to catch up on things and stuff.

Getting Our Products In Singapore

Also, ever since we posted about the comeback of our dumplings on our social pages, we have been receiving enquiries from those in Singapore as they are keen on buying our products in Singapore too. While we are amazed by the response, we still haven’t figured out how to actually sell our products there.

As such, we appreciate any leads and advice regarding this.

Thanks a lot for supporting us all this while! Now we have to continue preparing for the opening of our very first Kaijia outlet. Feeling super stoked!

Lunch At Hot Meal Bah Cyberjaya

Whenever we are in Putrajaya or Cyberjaya, we make it a point to go to Salam Noodles to satisfy our China-style Chinese Muslim food cravings. But ever since we found out that Hot Meal Bah opened an outlet in Cyberjaya, naturally we felt overjoyed. Like, yes! There’s another option for us!

Because of the pandemic, we never got to try their food. That was until we went to Cyberjaya last week.

Getting there

Super easy. If you are familiar with the Cyberjaya branch for Salam Noodles, well, Hot Meal Bah is located right next to it. To tell you the truth, we never expected both outlets to be located side by side.

The ambiance

Compared to Salam Noodles, Hot Meal Bah has a certain restaurant feel to it. Maybe because they offer more items on their menu plus the waiters wait on the tables.

The food

We had been to their outlet in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), so we had high hopes for their Cyberjaya outlet. Too bad we left there feeling disappointed as a few of the items we wanted to order were not available. Flavour-wise is okay, but we feel there is room for improvement.

The service

It was a Monday and we were there just before lunch hour. If we remember it right, there were two to three customers before us. Service was alright, just that by the time Karim finished eating his noodles, my noodles just arrived.

Our verdict

Would we go there again? Considering that our first experience was not up to our expectations, you would think we would never step into the outlet again. But the thing here is there is a chance that our second or third visit would end up being better than the first. So yeah, we will still consider Hot Meal Bah if we are in the area.

Besides, we need variety. After years of only eating at Salam Noodles outlets in Putrajaya and Cyberjaya, we finally have another place to eat China-style Chinese Muslim food.

We Tried Mooncakes From Hikmah FameLee!

Alhamdulillah! We finally got our hands on some Shanghai mooncakes! This particular mooncake has a crumbly exterior and the red bean filling is just nice, not too sweet.

We still have another 2 mooncakes in the fridge – 1 Shanghai mooncake (single yolk lotus paste filling) and 1 snowskin mooncake (rose red bean filling). Keeping those for some other day 😁

Interested to get your hands on some mooncakes? We got ours from Hikmah FameLee.

Thanks a lot to Hikmah FameLee for delivering the mooncakes to us as well as the free Snowskin mooncake 冰皮月饼!

Besides mooncakes, we ordered their duck rice too. Didn’t snap any photos before digging in though. The food was so yummy and the portions were good! Definitely worth the price.
