Back when I was a kid, my mum used to make pizza for the family. As the years go by, I soon discovered Pizza Hut, Domino’s, and other pizza joints. Yet the truth is, I still preferred my mum’s pizza. No doubt she made it in a different way, as in my mum used French loaves for her pizzas.
Why do you make a tortilla pizza then?
Simple. We ran out of French loaves and we only had a pack of tortilla left in the pantry. Tortilla pizzas had been on our feeds for a while, so we figured it was time for us to make our version of it. Also, since we had picked fresh curry leaves from the garden, we had to use it in something. We included it as one of the toppings.
Ingredients:
- Tortilla wrap
- Tomato paste
- Onion
- Tomato
- Sausages
- Capsicum
- Chilli
- Curry leaves
- Cheese
- Herbs
Method:
- Spread tomato paste on a tortilla wrap.
- Place your toppings on top.
- Bake your tortilla pizza in the oven until the cheese melts.
We baked ours for about 10 minutes at 160°C, though we reckon you could probably cook this in the air fryer or in a pan on the stove. Cooking time may differ.
How’s the taste?
Like a regular pizza, with more crunch to the crust. We drizzled a bit of of our Kaijia Fragrant Chilli Oil 红油 on our pizza for some heat. Have a bottle of Kaijia Chilli Oil 辣椒油 somewhere in the kitchen? That works too! Just drizzle the oil or add in the chilli bits for extra textures.
Should you make it?
To some people, this may not be a proper pizza. However, the tortilla pizza tastes great as a snack and sort of helps to satisfy your pizza cravings.
Just give it a try and let us know how you like it.
