Savouring Duck Rice At Hong Kong Roast

Hong Kong Roast. We first tried their food at Food Republic in Pavillion KL. Surprisingly enough, the person who recommended it to us is a Singaporean! And she was there on a holiday!

The second time we tried their food was at AEON Wangsa Maju Shopping Centre. It was one of those days where the family decided to takeaway something for dinner and my sister chose Hong Kong Roast.

Now, the third time was at the Food Arcade, Paradigm Mall Johor Bahru. We wanted to have an early dinner, but not something that was too heavy.

Eating Mee Tarik At Mee Tarik Warisan Asli

I no longer do my best to take decent photos

The first time I ate at Mee Tarik Warisan Asli was more than 5 years ago at their Medan Niaga Tasik Damai, Sungai Besi outlet. The menu was pretty simple then. I used to go there two to three times a week because it was within walking distance from my office, plus the taste of the mee tarik reminded me of my trip to China.

Ever since then, I’ve eaten at several of their other outlets. Needless to say, I’ve also seen the changes in their menu and restaurant concept. Maybe it’s just me, but I prefer their 5 years ago menu at Medan Niaga Tasik Damai, Sungai Besi outlet. And the price too.Read More »

We Had Halal Dim Sum At Kai Xuan Halal Chinese Restaurant

Pan Pac
Who says you can’t get halal dim sum in JB?

We had been reading about Kai Xuan Halal Chinese Restaurant but never got around to eating there.

Then one day, a friend of ours came to JB. She was staying at The Puteri Pan Pacific hotel and invited us to have halal dim sum with her.

One thing is for sure, there is nothing dim, about Kai Xuan Halal Chinese Restaurant dim sum. The restaurant has a wide variety of halal dim sum and we were quite clueless on what to order. Everything sounds so good! Plus the fact that it is not easy to get halal dim sum in JB, we were more than eager to try a few types.

Their dim sum did not disappoint us. Everything taste good and the service was quite fast too. We probably spent an hour there, feeling stuffed and satisfied.
